Quedlinburg is just a stone's throw from the Blankenburg Castle Hotel and, with its over 1.300 well-preserved half-timbered houses spanning six centuries and its well-preserved city wall dating back to 1330, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Quedlinburg offers an exceptional example of a European medieval town and has therefore been used as a film location on numerous occasions.

The Collegiate Church of St. Servatius was one of the most highly regarded churches in the Holy Roman Empire during the Middle Ages and still stands majestically on the castle hill overlooking the city. Its crypt, with its cross vault, capitals, tombs, and wall paintings, represents one of the most important monuments of art history from the 10th to 12th centuries and houses one of the most valuable church treasures of the Middle Ages.
